swapping to a 4.0

swapping to a 4.0
ok heres what i have.
i've got myold worn out beat up ranger. 89 m5od reg cab.
now it is a 2.3 of course but i would love a 4.0. first i know the rad wiring harnes clutch ecu engine mounts and prolly a trans and driveshaft would have to be changed for it.
now my baby. as much as i love her i want more juice. what would it take to get a 4.0 under her hood. it's a 91 king cab m5od 3.0.
the 91 runs great but i want more power. i have to pull pretty heavy loads from time to time and i'd like for it to be mor capable of it. i know either way that it would be a very pretty penny to do but well worth it imsure. simply just being able to get aftermarket support would be wonderfull. my lil 3.0 well as you all know there is nothing for it aftermarket. no cams not turbos nothing. i hate this idea with my 91 having only 85k on it but i have donsiderd swaping a 4.0 in her and the 3.0 in the 89.
should i do this how much power can i expect to gain? i was thinking i should try to keep with an older 4.0 for the emissions crap but i don't know yet what i will do. if someone can help me a bit i would truly apreciate it. either way i will have me one fast truck atleast. even if i have to wait till i wear out the 3.0 to get it.
i truly do love the power my 3.0 can make. it impresses me still when i wind it out to 5 and half grand but i want more lol. i have thought of just swapping rear difs for a while but im not sure how much power i would gain. it already has 4.25's in it (if i remember right.) so i don't know that i could find something slower or not. i'd almost rather go to 3.73's and a 4.0 if i worry about mileage but that kills the torque i want. see i live in a nice mountanous area and i do pull cars occasionally with her. needless to say i knew that i had alott wheight back there when i pulled a 91 ltd up a mountain in third at forty mph. shoot even just making the 3.0 stonger would hold me over for another year lol. just anything for more juice would be great. i love my ranger and i want it to know i love it. so what can i do for more juice from the 3.0 aswell. i know sometimes it seems like holy crap fast and others it's like well sluggish lol. if anyone else has had this problem how did you fix it?
