05 wheels

Hey guys has anyone tried to put on a set of 17" from a 04 or 18" from a 05 on and 99-02 powerstroke? I'm looking to upgrade my early 99 to the 05 look. I'm thinking about sticking a few dollars in it instead of buying a new one. I have looked on ebay and saw some people saying that the 05 only fit the 05's due to the offset of the wheels. Does anyone know for sure. Thanks

Todd

The 05' wheels will "fit" but look like crap. The wheel offset on the 05's is way different to accomodate for the new larger brakes and coil springs. If you want the 18's for a 99-04' check out the ford racing parts link. There are starting to sell the pre 2005 harley 18's. If you dont want the harley cinter caps, just use your old ones if they are in good shape of get a set new from the dealer or ebay.

That's a good question. My bet is yes but there are new things on super duties that didn't carry over the to EX. I cant imagine Ford would have two different dimension for the same wheel. Lurk in the excursion forum and see if you can get some info about the 05' brakes and coils.
