How do you get the darn shift knob off the shaft? A puller?

Sorry, I can't help you on gettin it off, I've only taken the top cover off of the steering wheel to repair frayed wires BUT I CAN'T WAIT TO READ SOME OF THE REPLIES YOU'LL GET WITH A TITLE LIKE THAT

Yup, I would bet that if you gave it a good tug job you would get it off

if your refering to a manual shifter.
mine i just twisted it untill it broke loose and it seems to be slighly glued on.
i did it to fix the plastic cover. only wish i knew what kind of glue was used.
now i can pull it off with a good pull.
