1978 Transmission
Working on my 78 Bronco and was going to swap out c-6/205 combo for c-6/205 combo out of a 1978 F-150 4X4. Aside from the drive shaft yolks having bolts to hold the drive shaft to it instead of u-bolts, the adaptor between the trans and transfer case is longer(appx. 3) on the Bronco than the F-150. Is the Bronco using a 2wd or 4wd transmission as the output shaft on the Bronco trans is clearly longer than the F-150 & most 4wd trans. that I am farmiliar with.

They are both 4x4 trans set ups and what you have is correct in that one is longer than the other. I've read that the F150 trans set up hits the cross member or something like that when used but I am not 100% on that. I do know that the cost of the drive shaft work alone would not make the swap worth while. The C6 can be rebuilt for cheap.
