Yesterday it snowed 1ft here in savage. It was awesome because I have never seen so much snow in my life even though I have been a Minnesotan all my life. So my friend said that his brother danny was going to snow slide in a parking lot. He had asked the owner permission and the owner is a good friend of his so he agreed (in savage, you get to know eachother). So today he came over to my house in his Audi A4. His brother had bought it used last year for $9,000. He drove up to the vacant parking lot and we got out to meet Ross, the store owner. Danny just had a quick chat with him about where they could and could not go.
As soon as he was through talking, we hopped back in the car and danny turned off the ABS and traction control. He gunned it and the car took a couple seconds to find traction. He got some good slides going and we had some close encounters. I was sitting in the back enjoying myself as we slid around corners while nearly missing snowbanks. After awhile, danny stopped the car and we all got out. As I did so, I noticed Ross coming out of the building. He walked over to us and told us that a concerned citizen noticed a silver car doing donuts in his parking lot. She threatned to call the police if we didn't stop.
We immediatly knew it was Miss Conny. She was a nice old lady but she gets concerned real easily. So we followed orders and got back in the car to leave. As we did so, a police car pulled into the lot. He flicked on his lights and our car stopped. Danny stepped out of the car as did the officer. He told danny that he had gotten a report of three teens driving out of control. Danny's face got real worried and he begged the officer to let him go. The officer gave him a warning after 15 minutes of interagation and Danny was forced to a breath test. He checked out fine and we were on our way. Around here, that is big news. Just letting you know.
Its nice to have a bit off fun once in a while. Thats a lot off snow did you get a lot off wind with it. Where is Savage located at. Is that far from Mankato. I know where that town is.
it is about an hour and a half (hour and 15 minutes to be more exact) out of mankato. You may know of minneapolis which is about 15 minutes away. We got some wind with the snow, but it was a nice snowfall over all. The parkinglot had a nice sheet of ice underneath too.
Hope you guys didnt get in to to much trouble. No fun if you cant play around in the snow. You should have nice talk with that lady. She would be reassured that your not harming anything just having fun. Offer to clean the snow off her walk or help her out in some way. That would impress her an that your not irresponsible. Good Luck an have some more fun in the snow.
Yeah, Miss Conny is a real nice lady and we stopped by her house today and told her what was going on. She thought we were going to fast and were spinning out. I should do something nice for her. I watch her four cats sometimes and looks as if her driveway could use a plow. We only got a warning and a call to our parents. My mom was okay, still haven't heard from danny. Ross said we could come back and the cop just didn't want to hear it from his boss if he didn't respond to the call. We plan to go driving tonight again at Ross's. My buddy Warren plans to bring his lifted K-5.
sounds like fun , but you were doing donuts on that guys private property, and he let you.. right? therefor the cops can not do anything if its on his property and he let you drive on it. That is just crazy that he made him take a breathalyzer test.
Just got back from some more driving. We got there and my buddy warren was showing off doing a burnout in a patch of the snow from the plows and his tranny blew. Ouch. Yeah, that's what he looked like. He reved it up and the dual exhaust sounded purtty. He spun the wheels and as he did so while releasing the brakes, the truck reved and didn't move anymore. Had to call in a tow truck. Danny's audi got real close to becoming scrap metal as he rounded a turn and nearly knicked a light post. He still went on after that and then took us home. As for the breathalyzer, savage is not to happy with crime and makes sure everybody is driving safe. Still was kind of unnecessary though.
Here in Idaho when we get that much snow we go out on the snowy roads in the desert and do the same thing. Wear warm clothes in case you get stuck and have to dig yourselft out. I love snow driving.
dang thats cool man! it sure goes a LONG way when you have permission! which brings up the question... how come the parking lot owner didn't tell the cop that everything was ok?
Ross (parking lot owner) went back inside when we got back in the car. We were right next to the front doors. We had to drive a for about 20 seconds at 5mph as we left the lot. After we left, the cop went to Ross and Ross took care of things.
Just over twenty years ago when I first got my drivers liscence a few of my buddies and i were donig donuts in a church parking lot with a big ol chevy staion wagon and the cops caught up with us.Luckily I didnt get the breathalizer and they didnt check for anything else but I did get a wreckless driving ticket. The cop didnt believe me when I told him our driver training teacher said to do donuts in a empty parkinglot for experience. The experience realy did help to learn how to control the vehicle in those conditions. My dad wasnt to impressed when he found out about but it sure was fun.
We got some snow here and I still find a empty parking lot or two once in a while.

Cool, why were you lucky you didn't get the breathilizer? Were you drunk? Just a question. Anyways, I'm leaving here in a few minutes to go check in with my buddy that ruined his tranny. I'll keep you posted.
We may have tossed a few beers or more down. Not so smart but at the time it sure seemed like the thing to do.Watch out for the law you dont always get off that easy.
Ive had my share of officers make me dump my beer out or confiscate whatever else I may have had on me but I also got busted a few times too.The last one 5 yrs or so ago ended up being a drunk driving and I spent my first night in jail. That sucked because I had a brand new F150 and my girlfreind was more worried about that than she was me.I sat There for a extra 4hrs before she came to pick me up cause she went to the impound yard to get the truck.I was smokin mad.I got a one month suspended liscence, probation,a tasty fine and a few other crappy things.
