Fuel injection is infinitely adjustable to the engine and conditions. The only limitations to it are how much air you can feed it and the size of your injectors/pump, just as a carb is limited to its rated CFM and jetting. You can NEVER tune a carb as accurately and as fast as EFI will adjust itself. It maintains a perfect A/F ratio at all times, yes, even at WOT. What, do you think that the exotic car companies who build 1000+ horsepower engines to put in cars that exceed 200mph on the track don't know what they're doing?

In addition to being more efficient, EFI will not die out on you with harsh offroad angles like a carb will so if you plan to do any steep hill runs or any rock crawling it would be a much better option.

As most have said, carbs are easy, fuel injection is efficient. Reliability goes to injection and durability goes to carb. What's the difference? Reliability is starting every time this month. Durability is starting using the same parts in 10 years.

As for the WOT comments, carbs have a slight vacuum drop that better atomizes the fuel.(assuming engine hot, upper rpm, ect) It is common for a carb to have better peak horsepower. However the wide torque band of fuel injection is much more useful than a slightly higher peak, especially in a truck.

All that being said, I run a carb 'cause I can diagnose and fix it easily, and if the time ever comes replace it cheaply.

People dont like things that fears them.

Read into Efi a bit, play with it , you will be suprized how simple efi acutally is. Take my word i USE to be a carb lover two

EFI is just better, hands down better. It is also difficult to fix when you are fifty miles from nowhere. So when you say off road, the question is: how far? And how many kinds of spare parts are you willing to carry along.
