i keep fouling them its a carbon foul stock carb and all just the headers added
its an autolite plug usually have no problems at all with these plugs any advice on something i missed or a different plug? thanks again fellas
What Autolites are you running? 25's? You could go to a 26, a hotter plug, and that might take care of it. However, start with a stock plug and see if you can cure it by checking one of the suggestions made by ford390gashog. Going to a hotter plug might just mask a problem if this just started.
Here is a link to Autolites's website and their spark plug section. There is a lot of good info on reading plugs and choosing plugs and such...
EDIT: On rereading your post, it is quite possible that since you added headers that you need to readjust your carb settings. I had to on my stock '79 F350 400 engine, and all I did was swap out the muffler to a Flowmaster.
no oil on plugs they are gapped at 44 mixture is still a tad rich for my likings cant remember vac andd jet size at the moment it was 2:30 in the am i was thinking i might need a hotter plug. thanks for the replies
