10k mod no worky for me..Dissapopinted

Keept giving me a check engine light,,reset the computer 3 times and 3 times it came back. So I started upping the resistance until I got rid of the code,,had to run 14k to not get a code. Ran VERY strong till about 2000rpm then fell on its face,,Took it back out ran fine again.. So in conclusion,, in my case it was a bust.. Dissapointed because right until it nosed over it was pulling like a bear.

Did the other resistor mod (oil temp) and that one went fine. Doesnt feel any different (my butt dyno is used to much bigger changes,my last daily driver was an 11second Lincoln ) but no codes..

Did you try the ICP resistor by itself, or with the EOT resistor?

So the ICP by itself didn't work?

Hows it run otherwise...any rough idle, buck, surge, hesitation, etc? I'm wondering if your ICP sensor doesn't already have some resistance across it.

You probably got the leads in the wrong terminals. This view is looking down at the top of it.

If the truck starts with the ICP sensor disconnected the sensor is bad.

Can't find any specs for checking the sensor bias. It just says if it's biased replace it.

Nope didnt get the leads in the wrong terminals and I didnt run the wires in the connector like that.. Too rigged for me.. I peeled the insulation of the two correct wires and soldered the resistor.
Again,if you read my original post youll see I had a check engine with the 10k,once I upped the resistance to 14k it ran fine and very strongly until above 2000rpm where it nosed over. My thoughts are its either running out of fuel or the computer is defueling because of too high boost.

No way you are overboosting at 2K rpm. Stock fuel has barely started making boost that early. Also, I think if it were running out of fuel you would be seeing problems resisted or not.

High pressure oil could be the problem, either in the ICP, the IPR, or the pump itself. The pump would have to be borderline for a 10K to overtax it.

Best bet would be to pull the code that turned on the CEL, that should give an starting point.

Im not gonna worry too much about it,,truck runs great as is without the resistor ,was just looking for a little extra pop but not to the point of risking problems...

my truck ran like poo over 2k with the 10k, seemed like i was running out of high pressure oil.. a good chip will get you the extra power and not have to worry about problems like with the 10k. with my truck setup seems like the only codes i get are overboost, low hpop, and overspeed......
