the price of used trucks is a little lower than the book values these days since FORD and GM have dropped new prices several thousand dollars, and there are more "used" trucks now to get rid of. i bought 6 months ago a 2110 F150 5.4 crew cab 4 x 4, basically stock with 120,000 miles. they wanted $14,000. i bought for $12,500. individual sale. guy had a new truck that he just got a "good deal".

I just bought essentially the exact same truck. 2000 F150 4x4 5.4 w/ 90,000 miles. I paid $9,900 at a Ford Dealer here in Iowa, where trucks bring a pretty good price due to all the farmers driving the market up.

The dealer offered $10,000 for trade in, but i dont want to loose the $3,xxx from what I owe, so I figured I can sell it myself because I'm in no hurry to get rid of it. Just want to get a car due to a new job father away from home (gas mileage reasons).

Plus I figure its winter now, a 4x4 should sell pretty easily.

You will probably be able to get around $13,000. It is hard to sell used vehicles right now with all the incentives, plus people are waiting till January so they don't have to worry about personal property. I would list on vehix.com and list it at $15,000 and see if you get any calls. Most people will be searching the web, this time of year, and waiting to buy. All it takes is that one person looking for a nice truck that was well maintained but unfortunately everyone wants a great deal, with gas prices. Good luck..

Thanks for the help everyone, I will probably list it in early January for $14,995. Got a trip planned between Christmas and New Years and I want my truck to take on the trip.
