Hey anyone out there who had a cruise control issue with the wires getting damaged in the steering column?Iwas just curious as to where the wires went bad?The only place I can see where they may get damaged is behind the wheel where I can't get to with out yanking the wheel.
I've got absolutely no cruise functions at all. There are no blown fuses and all the lights work.I remember reading a post about the wires in the column chaffing or something.
There is a pressure switch on the master cylinder that often fails. Try unplugging it and jumping across the two terminals in the wiring harness that plugs into the switch. If the cruise then works there is your problem.
Mine did the same thing and it turned out to be the wires on the back of the horn pad not making good contact. I removed the horn pad, moved all the wire connections around and reinstalled the pad - been working fine since.
