What is your favorite engines made by Ford? Mine would be either a 390 V8 or a 429 V8.

 

The 300 is my absolute favorite.

If I could afford a truck with a 7.3 PSD in it, then that would probably be my favorite.

 

534 and the 300.

 

5.4L and 300 I-6.

 

427 SOHC I know not much chance in owning one of them.

 

360/390-ive always had a ford and had a 289,302 and lots of flatheads

 

300 i-6 is my favorite by far. I had one in my first truck. I thought it was bulletproof until the guy I sold it to "let" the lifters go bad and it took a plunge. I'd love to see Ford bring the 300 back, not likely, but still wishin'.

 

Mine would be 347 stroker or factory 460 big block. Both engines pack alot of torque.

 

I'd have to go 360 / 390 FE. There's just so many different ways to build them. A very versatile and strong motor. A great place to start with any engine project IMO.

They might cost a bit more for some parts, but you are rewarded with a very strong crank, set of rods, deep-skirt block, shaft mounted rockers, good flowing heads, and quench heads to resist pinging. All in a package that weighs 100lbs less than a 460. With aluminum heads and intake, you're down to around 351W weight.

 

my vote goes for the 300 and the 460

 

I have to go with the 300, 302, and the 460

 

My personal favorites are the 300 & 460.

 

Only becase after a long affair with GM, my current 415 cid V10 is my favorite. Hope to get many more years out of my first Ford engine.

 

Mine would have to be a 302, but I am becoming a little found of my 281 4.6L

 

300 - Fuel Injected or Carb'd

2300's are indestructable, and beefy - i just pulled one from a fairmont - its a heavy SOB!
