Brake bleeding tool for a 78 f-150

This whole brake problem came about when I decided I needed to put on new brake hoses on my 78 f-150 4x4. I already put on the nice stainless braided brake hoses. Now I need to bleed my brakes. I am lucky enough to have set of 1978 ford truck shop manuals. It states in the manual, that I need to pull the bleeder rod outward on the Pressure Differential, Metering, and Proportioning Valve. It also states that I need to use Metering Valve Bleeder (tool J 22742). Where the heck do I get that tool or something that will work? What should I do?

If you guys have the shop manuals the page I am on is Chassis-12-01-19

Actually I've heard several guys say they had no problem with gravaty bleeding their brakes. I'm about to do the same thing, and I was going to try that before I got a tool, but I'd also like to hear what other people have to say about this subject before I do anything.

I've bled many many sets of brakes over the years and have only ever had to mess with the plunger on the prop valve on one rig, and it was a Chevy that had completely lost the front brakes and the prop valve was stuck.

I like the gravity bleed method. I works well on almost any brake system and you don't need a helper. It takes more time this way though.
If you are using a catch container at the bleeder screws, just make sure you hose isn't submerged in fluid in the container.

Should you open up a valve on the prop valve? an when should you stop bleeding. I tried doing the rear with out opening any valve, and it seemed to work, but when I thought it was finished bleeding, bubbles would come out again.
This is my first time bleeding brakes, and would really appreciate a little more details.
Thanks in advance.
