My 3.0L/02 Ranger 4X2 tries to stall on sudden stops or bad stop & go traffic>>I just cleaned the MAF sensor & IAC which was filthy! Plus replaced the PCV valve> Could this be a spark plug problem? Even though I only have 65000KM on the truck and the book says change every 100 000KM?
Manual or Auto? How's the IAC, not in cleanliness but in voltage?
It strikes me as the IAC for several reasons. Sudden stops: You let off the gas, the throttle butterfly valve completely closes, the IAC, if not working properly, won't allow enough air in the engine, possibly stalling it. Same story in traffic: you let off the gas and the butterfly valve closes, leaving air regulation to the IAC. Definetly my first candidate. Might pull codes though just to make sure. Autozone will do it for free, just get the codes if there are any and bring them to us. Check that IAC!
