cam posion sensor questions
I have 207,000 on my 99. I havent ever had to replace the cps. Is this something that I should have on hand? How much are they and how hard is it to change? Also would like to thank everyone on this forum. I have learned alot. I usually read all the posts everynight. Thanks again -ALAN

yes, there is no set mileage that they go out. some will last over 300000 miles, and some will blow as soon as you start it up after replacing it. just carry a spare, and a 10mm wrench. it is not hard to change, just pull out the electrical connector, take out the 10mm bolt that holds it in place, and then pull it out with a firm tug. then coat the o-ring or whatever with oil to prevent leaks, push new one in and put the bolt back in. then plug it back in.

I Had A 2000 F350 .... Cps Went Out At About 97,000 Miles. Did Not Have A Spare With Me At That Time. Sure Wish I Would Have !!!!!!!
Now Driving A 2002 F250..... Coming Up On 80,000 Miles.... I Am Expecting It To Go Out At Any Time Now ( Because Of My Last Truck ).
But This Time I'm Prepared .... Have A Spare Behind The Seat/ With 10mm Wrench. It May Last Forever ... Who Knows.
Now That I Have The Spare It May Never Go Out
