Should I drive with these Codes?
I did a quick run over the truck tonight b/c I have a 320 mile trip coming up. I pulled the following codes and was wondering if I should not drive that distance with the current codes.
KOEO:
26 TOT sensor out of test range
Continuous:
31 PFE or EVP circuit below minimum voltage of .24V
KOER:
21 ECT out of test range .3-3.7V
44 thermactor air injection system inoperative (right side)
33 EGR valve opening not detected
77 failed to read WOT (user error)... I did hit the throttle after the promt though, so don't know why this showed up
I am most worried about the EGR valve, it is a junkyard part, but this is the first time I've gotten the code. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Kyle

You could clean your egr valve or replace the evp since its a very quick and easy replacment with a new unit if ure in a hurry unless you want to spend time testing the evp to make sure its bad. I believe the ECT could mess with your performance and drivability if its messed up. If you felt you needed to replace it you know its a fairly quick procedure but then you have to mess with a bit of coolant. I would check out the connections first for this stuff. Maybe disconnect the battery and reset the computer drive a bit then recheck the codes again right after that. Was your truck warmed up when you checked these codes?

I idled the truck for about 10 minutes, but it is cold here in Iowa, so the thermostat still hadn't opened. The reason I asked if I should drive on them is because even though I have access to a lot of tools, discluding a voltmeter though, I only have a parking lot to work in.
In short, I'd like to wait until I get home where I have a heated garage to work in with all the tools I need, unless I need to fix any problems before driving over 300 miles at highway speeds.

I suppose you could drive the trip and make it but that would really be hurting gas mileage and performance. If I was you I would probably change out the evp since its so easy and just 3 screws and hope that solved my egr problems but thats under the conditions you have. It would be best to check the stuff first but since you say can't do it now.....that would seem reasonable, to me at least. Good luck with the trip though.
