Applying pinstriping tape

I recently got the notion that my '04 bright-red F150 could use a little something to break up the sea of red, so I bought some pinstriping tape to apply. The kind I bought has the two thin gray lines, with one being a little thicker than the other. With no other pinstriped F150 handy to compare it to, do I put it on with the thick stripe on top or on bottom? Or is there no one way to do it, just do it the way I think is best? And is putting pinstripe tape on pretty easy?

Thanks.

The guy that pinstripped my trk freehanded it with a brush. but he was using a big roll of magnetic tape to help keep the lines straight. Pretty neat trick. Alot better than measuring and masking it off.
