anyone help me with some needed info on a 255l
4.2l 8 cylinder, need to know if the firing order is the same as a 302 v-8 and if the parts are inter changeable such as intake manifolds

 

Hi Moosetang and welcome to FTE! Firing orders are the same but the intake and a lot of other things don't interchange. Even the engine balance is different, it uses the 32/50 combo of the later 5.0L

This is a big forum but to tell ya, the 4.2L came in '80 and not too many of them thankfully. Maybe try posting in the smallblock forum for their expertise.
