1987 steering wheel

I may have made an EBAY mistake and bought a plain new steering wheel for my 1987 Ford F150 which has cruise controll and the person selling the NEW wheel said it was for a plain non cruise.
Does anyone know the difference and if the center is all there is couldnt I cut my old center out and weld it in the new steering wheel.
Just wondered if there is any difference and has anyone ever done this swap?
Any advise would be appreciated.

I would think that it is the same just without the controls on it ....you may be able to just swap your old controls to the new wheel....

you should be able to swap the controls, and the contact ring behind the wheel, and it should be good to go.

take your time, it's easy to crack and old ring.
