Signal Lights
I have a 2000 F250 7.3 4x4. If the steering wheel is tipped all the way down the signal lights and hazard flashers will not work. If the steering wheel is tipped all the way up they work. I am trying to take the plastic cover off the colume to check the wires but I can't get the plastic cover off the ignition. Can anyone tell me how to take it off without breaking it?

Pull the lower column cover off by removing the underside attaching screws, and also the tilt lever removed.. 'Under' the key cylinder is a small access hole.. Turn the key to the 'on' positon and insert a small punch ect. and 'push in' as you pull straight out on the key switch.. This will leave the key/power in the on position.. You can re-insert the key assy after the top cover is removed to kill the power while the work is being done.. The top cover is a bit of a tight fit to get out with the top cover 'legs' and the lower dash panel giving a bit of a fight, but can be removed 'carefully' without any breakage..
