Bassani exhaust question.

Well, mainly its a question on proficient performance.
I was looking at the headers and y-pipe. when you go to the y-pipe, it has a thing that give you the choice of a flange wich is 22 bucks extra or no flange. which flange is it talking about? I am thinking the flange needed too connect to the stock cats and pipes.

I can't remember what the difference was. I bought it for my 93 5.0L/w/ header package. I think....think it was for using with out headers and using stock manifold. The guy at PP told me what it was. They are very helpful. I wish I could have been on your thread. Hopefully someone will chime in.

the flanges are a steel adaptor ( like a donut) so manifolds or headers other than Bassani will seal with the Y pipe. I had to use the flanges between my Hedman headers and my Bassani Y pipe.

So if I buy the headers and y-pipe I don't need the flanges? But don't they use flanges for there connection?

No, the headers bolt directly to the Y-pipe with no gaskets or flanges. The flangeless design utilizes a "ball-collector" at the base of the header which seats directly agaisnt the flared ends of the Y-pipe arms.

Ahh, thanks grey. by the way, I have bellyd up and am buying the headers and y-pipe. but am using a 40searies deltaflow flowmaster. I just love em loud.
Also, Is the y-pipe stainless or coated? I buying the coated headers cause I don't like crome headers.

304 Stainless throughout the Y-pipe except for the cat. Don't take my word on the cat as gospel. By now Bassani may have either designed their own stainless-encapsulated cat or be installing one that is. I bought my system two or three years ago and thats what my knowledge is based on.

Well, I ordered the bassani headers and y-pipe. They called me ans asked if I was sure cause I typed in I owned an 82 and they did'nt know if they would work. I'm assuming they will, I might just have too cap off any 02 sensor holes. I also got the free shipping and after 4 days there website shows no tracking # and it still says prossecesing order, I'm assuming that when you get free shipping they are in no hurry too get it shipped out too you. Just letting you guys know, I will also keep yall updated and I will be taking pics of the install. laters

The Bassani Y pipe has only one high flow cat.
