I got a 77.5 F-250 crewcab lowboy. How much higher would it make it if i put highboy springs on it? Could i fit 35in tires on it? Or should i go with a 4in lift?
doesn't already have a 4 inch lift? or does that factory 4in. lift stop at pre 77 and a 1/2. My 77 f-250 I was told came factory with 4 inches. You should probably be able to get 35's on it now? Do you have a 2 inch block in the rear or 4in? Even with a to inch factory I think your good to go with 35's.
A pre 77.5 hi-boy and the 77.5 and up lowboy are not just a lifted/non lifted version of the same truck. There are MANY differences, including the width of the rear spring pack. They will not interchange that easily. You would be ahead of the game to put on a lift designed for your truck.
the 77 1/2 trucks came with different front springs and a shorter lift block in back. Also the transfer case is attached to the tranny, so you have one less driveshaft. And i believe the springs are wider on the 77 1/2. mudder trucker.
first the highboys did not have as factory lift, all of the f-250 4z4's came that way with a 4 inch block in the back, the heavier duty ones had 9 leaf leaf springs in the back, instead of the regular 6, which may have made them sit a bit higher, the 73-77.5 truck and the 77.5-79 rear springs are different, the earlier ones had 2.5 inch wide rear springs, the 77.5 and on had 3 inch wide rear springs, to put "highboy" springs on a 77.5-79 truck, you would have to put the "highboy" spring mounts on also, but there would really be no point. just stick with the 4 inch lift
