Hey folks was wondering if some of ya'll with pro-comp would give me your opinions on them. I'm currently running MT Baja MTX and since I can watch them wear away daily I figured I'd start looking to get some clues.
I like the all terrain model.
I have heard the tires refered to as pro-crap and was looking for some input from people running them.
I am looking for 33x12.50r17. I have not found much in this size so any suggestions on other brands will be welcomed also.
i had the pro comp 35x12.5x17 mud terrains on my truck for about 8000 miles they wear great when rotated. the x-terrains wear like crap. the reason i took off the pro comps was to go to 20's.
I just got rid of my goodyear 20 inch tires and rims due to vibration. I replaced them with 33 pro-comp tires and 17 inch rims. I love the look , ride , price (buy 3 get one free ) and the truck does not vibrate beetween between 55 - 65 mph.
I bought a set of ProComps about 5 yrs ago for my '97 F150. I got one that was out of round, and the off road store wouldn't change it out. I had to live w/the vibration ; it changed when I rotated the tires, so I'm pretty sure it was a single tire out of round. Other than that, I liked them OK . Me, personally, I'm not gonna buy anymore tires from off road stores.
About 40K miles later, my brother had one blow out while towing a boat, but I dont Necessarily hold that against the ProComps .
Just in case you are still looking for input on thr Pro-Comp A/T's...
I have a set of 33x12.5R17's on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 that I am about to trade in for a 2005 F150 Supercab.
I rotated them religiously every 7,500 miles, and they currently have 61,000 miles on them. If Summer were coming (instead of Winter in Upsate NY), I would no doubt keep the truck longer and get another 6,000 miles out of them.
I have nothing but good things to say about these tires after the junk Good Year GS-A original tires were bald after 37k.
