Question Engine problems

I am new to this forum and hope I am in the right place. I have a 93 Ranger that has 135,000 miles on it and until Saturday the 29th ran like a top. I was heading out of town and heard a whooshing noise and now it won't start. Checked for spark-no problem there, checked for fuel--no problem there, it won't even try to start. It turns over freely. I know not much info but anyone have any ideas?

I would say to check the timing belt, but if it broke there'd be no spark either...

Either that, or your timing belt jumped a tooth or two. Have you checked the timing?

Thanks for the info, I took it in to the shop and it was the timing belt and they also had to replace the idler.
