I hate Honda part prices$$$$ (very very long)
What are the odds of this.
Driving home the other night in my girlfriends Honda Prelude Si, only to discover that interior lights and taillights didn't work. Nice of her to tell me. I checked the fuse, wasn't blown. Hoping I can get home before cops see me.
So I get in my 95 F150, to go get her from work. Halfway there, I lose dash lights and taillights. Check fuse, it is blown. I had some spares in dash, blew those as well. How interesting I thought. Took the truck to the shop the next day, find out that wires in back for license lights, etc, are all rotted out. $50 to fix. Fine, whatever. Drop car off, pick up the truck. (A little FYI here, last week the car shut off on me, ended up being rotted out fuel pump wires, picked it up, drove it home, shut off again, this time was ignition switch). So anyway, mechanic tells me that it is headlight switch (which is built into turn signal lever) Cheapest one he can find new is $200. He tried all junkyards, and couldn't find one. Asked me if I knew where I could get one. Cheapest one I could get is $86 (used) and it will be here on Monday, 4 days from now. I hate Honda's. Girlfriend wants to get rid of it, I want to keep it, because in the last year I have replaced Fuel Pump, Brake pads, rotors, calipers, emergency brake cables, clutch, pressure plate, clutch cable, plugs, wires, filters, front and rear shocks, bearings, tires, headlights, taillight (where someone ran into it, and never bothered telling us), and front bumper cover and fender (someone cutting in front of me at intersection, ended up getting enough $ to put 4 new 31's on my truck)and the FLOOR as well. It still needs a windshield, and the pass side power window and blower fan does not work. Also, since it is coming up on 200,000 KM (thats right, car only has 111,000 miles on it at the moment) I will need to replace the timing belt. Anyway, like I said, I hate this car, but since we put so much into it the the 1 yaar that we owned it, one of these days stuff has to stop breaking on it for a month at least.
Sorry for the long post, just needed to rant and rave.

I should add, thats in Canadian dollars. I will also add for a laugh, that I went to the honda dealer to price a fuel pump for the car a while back, $450 bucks! Also, the floor metal, $3500!!! Just for the metal, never mind labor to put it in!!!
