Mil1ion- you guys will love Sedona! My wife wants to retire there someday. You guys have to do a "Pink Jeep" tour while you are there. They take you back on some trails (in a pink jeep of course ) then they take you to a dude ranch where you get to go horseback riding. Then after the ride you get to have a cowboy dinner, steak cooked over mesquite wood and all the fixin's. Its a great afternoon trip. Would love to join you guys up there, but we are headed to San Diego that week. Have Fun!

Sorry Dennis- its not the Pink Jeep Tours, its the RedRock Tours, here is the link to it:
http://www.redrockjeep.com/pages/horse.html
and this is another one, depending on how much you want to spend. RedRock is $95 and the The Day in the West is $135 per adult.

Its been 5 years since I've been there and all I could remember was "pinkjeep"

I think it's called the devil's staircase actually. This was back in August when we split the Valley for a week to the coolness of Sedona. They way the trail guide reads, it's supposed to be one way down the staircase. I went down it because of that but I really wanted to turn around and try to go up it. Didn't feal like getting the Pink wrath so I'll leave that for another day.
The Pink Jeepers use this a lot and as a result, work with the local forestry service to preserve the trail. They looked prety surprised to see an Explorer up there. LOL!

Michelle & I enjoyed ourselves immensely in the broken arrow area.
Michelle's Brother is just starting construction of a new house located at the top of a hill just a few blocks from where you turn off 170 to go on the broken arrow trail.
I know consider Sedona one of the premiere areas of Arizona.
I loved it and the town of Jerome.
Had a run-in with a biker in the bar though.......He ended up buying me a beer

Silver bullet - with a big truck like that, I can se where you'd get some brush scraps. I got some new ones myself on the Explorer on some of the Sedona trails. I think they are not used too much and then mainly by Jeeps. So us bigger boys get to trim back the vegitation.
Mil - glad you liked it. I like Jerome too. Strangest town built on that steep hill. Lots of strange things still sitting out there in the desert - old mines, mills, equipment... fun stuff exploring!

Yeah, I definitely didn't fit down the trail. You can see in the top pic the rear quarter panel on the passenger side has a 6' wrinkle down it. I tried squeezing between 2 trees and didn't quite make it. I left the dents on the truck, gives it some character. When I moved out here to PA, people are like, how'd you get those dents so high up? haa haa.
