Question ATF in 95 E4OD PSD

I'm changing the trans fliud in a buddys 95 F250 PSD E4OD this weekend. What kinda of fluid does the E4od take? How much like 20Qts -just the pan? How much for the converter?
I'm thinking just the pan but may do the conveter as well.
I will use my car to get extra fluid if he does not get enough.
Dustin
How much fluid for the rear diff?
it is posi so additive is a must.

Mercon, not Mercon V for the E4OD. It has about one gallon in the pan and almost four gallons total when you drain the converter. Total refill capacity is about 14-15 quarts. Mine was a 4x4, the 2wd one might vary slightly.

The rear diff only needs additive if there is an "H" in the axle code on the door post sticker. 8 oz for Ford Sterling 10.25 axles, 4 oz for Dana axles. Both the Ford 10.25 and Dana 60 take just over 6 pints of 80W-90 conventional or 75W-140 synthetic.

Before changing the trans fluid read this:

Changing just the fluid in the pan is a waste of time and money. You won't even get half of the total changed, so why bother? Either drain the pan and torque converter or use the instructions above.
