I had a 70 VW with a little hop up done...90 X 90 stroker fit, dual port heads, high powered ignition, header, and bigger carb.

That was one fast little booger.

that they could become.i still have the 2 liter roller engine out of the race buggy i drove in the baha 1000 in 1973 and met steve mcqueen at the end.

Damn Charlie now I can top that fer sure... I raced a 1951 split window with a 1302cc full JC Whitney racing parts set up on Bamberg and Scweinfurt's 3/8th dirt tracks and got to meet Peter Frampton at an after race drunk fest in Ebern Gremany... Gee a power pully, TeePee Headers, extra oil cooler, small CC roller heads and you could get that baby almost to 100 Horse Power... my what fun!

I learned the hard way that 10.5 compression and air cooled engines are bad.

Jason, WIX makes a filter for the V-10 that is 25 % larger (WIX 51087) available thru OReilly Auto Parts. You might consider an additional bypass filter to work with the stock type of filter which will fine filter down to 10 micron. This added filter and hoses,etc can be added for about $60. and uses easily available spin on filters.

I use Mobil 1 on my 2003 V-10 and am in the process of doing the above.
