Fuel Filter removal

I successfully removed the fuel lines from both ends of the fuel filter.

My question is how does the filter leave the "bracket" mechanism that holds it to the frame? Do you push it out in the direction of fuel flow? The other way?

It seems that I can begin to push it out if I push it towards the front of the vehicle, but then it gets hung up on a clip on another line.

Nevermind.

I got sufficiently pissed off and just ripped it out.

For those who search this in the future, pushing to the back of the vehicle works much better.

I unbolted the entire bracket...

then sanded it, and painted it with zinc chromate primer and black enamel... and baked it by a light bulb...

OK, I'm weird...
