1990 f150 4x4 REAR END GEAR RATIOS
#5
Pssst...all caps is considered SHOUTING on the internet--and considered impolite. Not to mention, it's harder for most people to read. If you don't want to use the 'shift' key, all lowercase is easier to read.
And, if you're wondering, there are some out there who won't answer your question because of the "shouting", so to have a better shot at getting your question attended, you might try posting in lowercase next time.
As to your question, there should be a code under "Axle" or something like that on the sticker on your driver's door (or is it on the post?) That code, when deciphered from either the original manual, or from folks here, will tell you the original ratio, type of axle, and whether it is an open differential or limited-slip. My '90 F150 has a code of 35, which is a Ford 8.8" rear end with an open 3.55:1 differential.
