Howdy,
Actually one of them was an F3. Page 26, this thread, #378 permalink posted by 49fordpickumup on 10-21-07. 49/50 F3 98RY392034 LOU.
Other was on Page 28, this thread, # 410 permalink posted by AK50 on 06-11-08. 50 F1 98RC322598 LOU.
Neither posting provided the stamped letters/numbers.
Sent you pics of the stamped letters/numbers that you asked for of the two F1s I orginally listed to your yahoo address. Hope you got them okay.
Thanks,
bfc

Does anybody know the history of my truck as I am in england,
when I bought this truck it came complete with an installed 302 with a c6 box but the rest of the truck is standard, dont know if this work was done over here or in the states, on the pillar drivers side is a plate stamped body number which I can just read 98 ?C 331 804 I think, and on the vehicle plate under the bonnet this reads 97H C 265566 HP
any info would be greatfull, thanks
Sorry forgot to say its a 1950 f1

Very ineresting that therre was a plate on the door pillar. My suspicion is that yur "?" is an "R" thus 98RC 331804. This woould have been the VIN number for a nother truck that came with a flathead V8. I suspect you have a Frankentruck (built from more than one) or someone may have grabbed the VIN plate from the 98RC truck and affixed it there not realizing that it should have been installed on the glovebox door. I am curious to know if there are four holes on the inside of the glove box door where the data plate would have gone.
The 97HC number could be from a 1949 model truck. MY laptop with the registry on it has crashed. Hopefully I can get it lit off again tomorrow and check that VIN #

8R = Flathead V8
C = 1/2 ton
279639 = VIN Sequence Number
4KC9CM143
4 = Color Code = Birch Grey
KC = Kansas City, MO Assembly Plant
9CM = Not sure here. This should be the build date code. C9 would indicate March 9, 1950. Base on other in the registry, I would say this truck was built in December 1949. That means the M is the month (December) and the 9C would have to be some number between 10 and 31. The numbers are oftem difficlut to read. Any chance this characters (9C) could be somehting else??
143 is some sort of plant speific sequence numeber that we have not yet been able to decipher.

9 = 1949/50
8R = Flathead V8 - 239 CID
C = 1/2 ton
233549 = VIN Sequence Number. Looks like it's a 49 bt we will find out for sure in a minute.
LOU is Louisville
3LU25H L1111J
3 - Paint Code = Raven Black
LU = Lousiville Assembly Plant
25H = August 25, 1949
L1111J = Some sort of plant specific coding. We haven't figured it out yet.
Thanks for the information.
