Latest in gas & diesel prices
Last night, 10% ethanol blended gasoline (Iowa has a 10 cent/gal subsidy to the dealers) was $2.199/gal, while diesel was $3.399/gal. The spread between gasoline and diesel is getting larger, while both prices have dropped a bit from last week.
Based on these latest prices:
My V-10 getting 12 mpg now costs $0.18325 per mile in fuel only. (BTW, last night I calculated my mileage and it got 13!)
A diesel getting 17 mpg, now costs $0.19999 per mile in fuel only.
Diesel advantage gone.
Stay tunned, nothing stays the same.

4wd, Good post and when we remember the extra 5 grand up front, the 14 quart oil changes, the expensive oil and fuel filters , that is a heck of a price to pay just so you can get a speeding ticket pulling a 6% grade towing a large fiver.
The new 3valve V10 can get you that same ticket a lot cheaper.
Right now we have many 03 and 04 SDs with the infamous 6.0 sitting on dealer lots, yes even Toyota and Honda lots. I can't even imagine the level of frustration a man must be suffering to trade a Ford SD on a Honda Ridgeline. To me that would be like kicking
Catherine Zeta Jones out of your house so you could shack up with Rozanne Barr.
Now trading a 6.0 in on a V10 like I did, that is like kicking Rozanne out so you could
let Catherine in. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM sweet.

Yes my response was a test to see if the Big EX driver from the Big Island was still reading our posts. Take care Monsta and thanks for being such a good moderator but then you drive a V10. A diesel driver could never moderate with the class you do .
