Harmonizing the Balancer.......
Hi there!
On my 1979 Ford 302 ( 4WD ), as a parts store guy and I were looking within the cavity of my truck watching the belts turn. The big pulley ( my mind went blank on the real name ) 'crankshaft?'... anyhoot..... it has a little wobble in it. The guy said he was 99% sure that my 'Harmonic Balancer' was going bad and I need a new one.
A while back someone said my main shaft was a little bent. Any ideas and maybe how much trouble this is to fix?
Thanks

Harmonizing the Balancer.......
These are some fairly vague simptoms.....
If the crank pully is wobling it is probably the pully, not the ballancer. Ballancers don't go bad often. It is important to fix it - bad things will happen if you don't.
Main shaft? I assume they are talking about your driveline. Take it to a driveline shop and have them rebuild it. Probably run you a hundred bucks. The alternative is to buy a used one that may be no better.....
Hope this helps....
