Trailer Queen or Real Work Truck?

Hey guys!

I'm wondering if we have any deer hunters in the group? I bought my Bronco specifically to get me to the places I like to bow hunt, and I wonder if how many of you guys really use your trucks for either work or for hunting and stuff like that. Anybody planning to get out in the field with their rigs on September 3rd when the bow deer season opens in Ky?

I use mine to pull my 4 wheelers to the farm where I hunt. Can't get the truck in the woods, but the 4 wheelers don't need a cleared road.

I use to deer hunt every chance I got.... but I haven't been in probably 7 or 8 years.... But yes my Bronco sees the woods regularly... detroit lockers front and rear, 4:56 gears and 38.5 inch Boggers....

Sounds like a cool setup Mach. I'm still pretty stock on mine, but I put a new set of mudders on it last spring after getting stuck in the middle of a cornfield for about a hour on the day after Derby. If you remember 2 Derbys ago, it rain like crazy that day, and all the next day, but I couldn't wait to hunt, so I went anyway and almost got stranded! Told myself that wouldn't happen ever again, and it hasn't since I put on the new mud tires.

Glad to hear that lots of us actually use our trucks. I not only hunt with mine, but it is my "work" truck. I renovate old houses for fun in my spare time, and my Bronco is my tool, lumber, and general crap hauler.

I use mine for all the normal pickup stuff, but, I also use mine for storm chasing and for my search and rescue dept.

I wouldn't think there would be severe enough storms to chase here....

My partner and I cover an extended tri-state area. If we get enough notice, we have been known to travel several hours to get to a storm. You could see us anywhere from Louisville, Cincy, Indy, Columbus, Ashland, and even as far as the Toledo/Michigan areas.

Nope, just a hobby. We are with a private group called the Multi-Community Environmental Storm Observatory (MESO). It is totally volunteer, and we use the footage that we get in a school and community center presentation. Check out our website at www.mcwar.org.

Great looking rig Mach. I've been playing around with putting a soft top[ on mine, but the darn things are still like $600.00, and I hate to spend that kind of money on a top. I'd rather put it towards a 4" lift. I think I'm gonna do that this spring.

Storm chasing always looked like a blast to me. I'll bet it's pretty cool to drive around hunting tornados, then getting really close ot them to get some footage. Sounds like a rush to me!

What engine do you have in your Bronco? When I got rid of my bronco I still had some parts left over. IF you need something PM me I might have something.
