The wait is over!!!! Our LED 3rd brake lights in both smoked and clear have arrived. They look amazing. I'm attaching a few pics of our silver 02 for y'all to see. We do offer a plug; however, most customers just hard wire them because using the plug on 1997-2003 Ford F150's is a difficult task. It requires dropping the headliner and carefully removing the wiring and running the new plug and wiring thru a small hole in the body which in some cases needs to be made slightly larger in diameter to properly fit the plug thru it.

When you simply hard wire the new RECON light, the whole job only takes 5 minutes. The RECON kits also come with quick splice connectors to help simplify the job. It's really your call.

I don't really want to sound like an idiot here, but what exactly is this? I know it is the third brake light and all, but is just brighter than normal?

 

It's much brighter indeed. The brake light is nearly 8 times brighter than your factory installed brake light. The pics on the following link display the product installed on a variety of trucks both illuminated and not illuminated.
