FORD truck looks...
For years the FORD trucks were always much nicer looking than CHEVY, and way better than the gruesome Dodge trucks....but ever since the "bulldog" face appeared on the dodges, slowly the fords started to take on the "bull" nose shape....losing their gracefulness...the Chevy trucks turned Bullish almost immediatly, as if to "keep up " with the dodge boys...

Fords have always looked better, and will continue to do so. Although some people believ that Ford copied the dodge design, I think thats not true. They may have taken a few cues, such as how the hood looks. Everything else is original. The dodge has fenders that flare out, and the hood is doesn't really have any extra curves in it, whereas the Ford haa the curved down sides on the hood. Completely different, but similar in concept.

I think the bulldog looks of the SD are fitting of that trucks nature and personality. The SD is just a big monster that goes over or through anything that gets in its way and I think Ford wanted more of a rugged "lead, follow or get out of the way" look for the new F-150.
I usually dont like Ford's new bodystyles when they first come out, but usually within a few years they grow on me and I learn to like them.
I actually like GM's truck styling a lot better than Ford and Dodge.
Personally, I like Toyota's styling the best of anyone...

I like the grille on a new Ford. It looks even better when you stand in front of it. It looks mean. I heard a rumor on the Ford Dodge frontend. I heard that back in 97 Ford sold a design to Dodge thinking it was ahead of it's time, then dodge put it out and they picked up sales then after that Ford introduced the Superduty and cleaned house. Then agian I don't know for sure.

Its obvious from rumors like this who is leading and who is following. I rank this one on the same scale as the one that suggest ford owns the majority of cummins stock and let dodge use their engines.
More than likely the source to these type of rumors start at Ford dealerships by Ford sales people.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think that the fords have been hideous since 98/99. In the end some people will buy it because they think it looks better, and others will because it has a blue oval on the grille. I won't be buying any new trucks, until something new happens. I think all 3 (ford, Chev , and dodge) are making fugly trucks. I am perfectly happy with my good looking, paid for, older model.

FRECSF, I couldn't agree more. These salespeople think they know everything and start rumors like this and throw everybody off track. But since you said Cummins, I'd like to branch off by saying two things I wish people could understand;
1.) There is no "G" in Cummins!
2.) Cummins bought back its stock from Ford several years ago.
Just my .02

See? Different strokes for different folks. I happen to like the 97-2004 F150's. These are VERY tough trucks. Much tougher than their appearance portrays them to be. I've always liked the looks of the Super Duties more though. I really don't see how the looks of any other brands can quite compare. The Chevy and Dodge have the kind of look that must grow on you. The GMC does this easier for most people - the Ford SD is easily the best looking truck going though. The new 150 is still growing on me.
