Question 2006 F150 Supercrew with the 6-1/2' box

Does anyone know when Ford plans to start making the 2006 F150 Supercrew with the 6-1/2' box? ? ?

They will not be built until Job 2 starts which is when they fire up again after the holidays. You should start seeing them around February.

My dealer told me last Friday that the V6 Diesel is suppose to be added mid '06 as well....now that would be a good combo...

That's news to me. Has anyone else heard this. I just ordered an F150, due hopefully in mid December, and I researched the hell out of the F150. The only thing I read was in Truck Trend Magazine. They said it wont be long until you see the V-6 Power Stroke engine in the upcoming Expedition's and F150's.

Its about time that baby diesel came out.

Ford of all truck makers should realize that the first manufacturer out of the gate with a V6 diesel in the 1/2 ton category will pretty much OWN the light truck market.

Now's the time to start saving up.

yea hopefully it is true, for I am putting off mods until then. I have not seen it mentioned any where either Blue Scab, but he was adiment about it saying it was on display at some dealer thing he was at. I guess only time and a few well placed camer men will tell....Man I hope so...I am drooling just thinking about it. My parents had an 80 something dodge that had a cumins in it a while back....belive it was like an HD but that thing was a beast.....

6.5-foot box: sometime around the first of the year, but nothing definite.

V6 diesel: there are no plans to put it in the 150, and there are 2 reasons. First, Ford is afraid it would be so expensive that it wouldn't sell enough to justify it, and the few it did sell would just take sales away from the Super-Duty. Second, whether we like it or not, Ford prefers to play catch-up with the competition, rather than be the first to market with something truly new. So, until GM and Dodge offer a half-ton diesel, I'd be willing to bet good money that we won't have one, either. I personally think the V6 diesel F-150 would be a great idea, but as I've said so many times, Bill Ford, Jr., stopped taking my phone calls a long time ago...

FYI in the late 90s for 2-3 years (I think it was 97-99 but do not take my word on it) Chevy offered the 1500 with the 6.2L diesel. They are quite the find because I think less then 10,000 were made. So ford comming to market with a diesel would not make them the first.

money and lots of it. THE V-6 diesel would be awsome but the only thing your gonna see it in for a while is the new cab over series of trucks. the smaller motor is pretty much a 6.0l without 2 cylinders but remember how awsome that was when it first same out (sarcasm here)
