Neutral Safety Switch

The old tranny wasn't up to the new 302 roller motor so the new one goes in tomorrow (if its ready and it dosen't rain too hard on my driveway). I'm going to put a Lokar shifter on it while I'm at it. The neutral switch has not functioned since I put the truck back on the road 18 months ago. The Lokar comes with a switch that works off the shifter handle at the base. Where was the old one (C4 automatic)so I can run the wires to the new switch. I didn't have any electrical connections that I removed or disconnected when I pulled the old tranny. As always, thanks. JG

Mr. Foot,
Since you didn't tell me which model year you'll be getting the long version.
73-76,77: In cab on steering column @ firewall.
77-79 : On tranny
Look for red wire with blue stripe, I think. It's been awhile since I did one.

KingFisher

Thank ya,uh, Kingfish. Its a 74 short bed fleetside, black, chrome and rust. I'll pick up the tranny in about an hour and begin installing it. I hope I don't get it 180 out like the timing on the motor I just put in! Thanks for the help, and ya don't hafta call me mister, mister, you can call me Foot.
