Unhappy puddles inside my bronco

about a month ago i redid my interior, carpet, trim, side panels. it looks real sharp. id like to keep it that way....but......after all this rain here in NY, i discovered two puddles in my truck. right behind the front seats, and along the side in the channel in the floor.

now i spent alot of money to make my bronco really nice, and i cant have this water comin in and ruining it.

the water it coming in somewhere around the door post, i dont think the cap is leaking, but its comin in behind the side panels and getting the speakers soggy.

i got a tarp over it for now, but i cant do this all the time.

where have you guys found leaks in your rigs? and what did you do to stop them?

Any cracks around your rain gutters? That will do it every time.

Yeah, check for those dreaded cracks. Use some clear silicone as a temporary fix.

I had same problem. Top side window gaskets went bad. Look behind the inside trim panel to verify.

Also make sure tailgate window isn't leaking. The water can roll under carpet and collect behind front seat. If so, replace tailgate weatherseal.

Happy sluething.

Speak of the devil, I noticed I get a small lake in the back of my Bko everytime it rains. Anybody got a guesstimation on how much it'd be to replace all of the top seals, all the way around? -Bill

It aint cheep.....I have replaced the window belts on both doors and rear glass. I have also replaced cap to rear glass seal and the two corner pieces. Like two days ago I replaced the tailgate to bead seal($45-JBG)......that was the most recent and last of the tailgate work to keep out the water/noise/dust........it is air tight now!

I have to look at the driver and passenger doors now.....like I said I already replaced the window belts on both doors, but now I think I will do the felt runs, then the door to body weather strip and be done with it!

I think JBG has everything......but like I said it aint cheep.

You want a guess.......I would think for about $250 you could replace quite a few of the old seals. I would also check into a kit, or full set of seals and window belts/sweeps.....check LCM or JBG.
