What would be the first thing you'de do with a mothballed 70'
Bronco 302 3 on the tree, after the obviouse, like setting it
down off the jacks and a service? It does have less than
150 thou on the motor, and very little surface rust.
I go one better, drive it down here and I will BUY you a plane ticket home. LOL
But really, after the obvious like changing fluids and all I would do a flush on the radiator, pull the coil wire and turn it over a few times to get the oil circulated before starting, maybe pull the hose off the fuel pump and pump some gas in a container to check for bad or dirty gas. After that then go for a few short runs to ensure it all is working well and start having some fun.
What are you going to do with it, mod it out, keep it stock, what? Good luck.
Definatly do everything you said. And some of the things i'de do
would rebuild the drive train and, maybe instl a 351w, beef up a
few other items, lift. Or maybe just bring it back in shape and in
a few years when my son can drive give it to him to personalize
it to his liking in about 5 years. Gosh i also cant remember the
last time it was driven befor my dad stored it away in richland wa.
20 yrs?
the 2 things i would do aside from the obvious servicing and getting everything back up to par is ditch the 3 speed and bolt in a ZF 5speed and upgrade the D30 front axle to at least a D44!
Start with gas tank and fuel lines. If you get it running, go for brakes. If you dont like 3 on tree, change to C4 auto. Leave everything else alone until it has a problem. Minor money and lots of fun till the kid can drive.
