I made one for my race car, ran two 4" hoses from the signal light holes to the air cleaner, sealed the air cleaner and had a homemade ram air system, similar in design and look as the 64 T-bolts
Most street vehicles can get by with one 4" hose. I used an air cleaner from "Ram Air" (don't remember the exact name off hand of the company) and fabricated a sheet metal scoop from home duct parts that covers some openings on the drivers side of the forward firewall. During the winter I plug it and run the hose down by the headers.
I have the stock set up, I found all the parts at two different junk yards. If the air gets too cold it will freeze the carb and die. Then you have wait till the carb warms up off the engine. If you have a phenolic spacer, that could take a while longer. I guess you have to let the truck warm up or have the heat riser setup, like I found for my truck.
