If any one is interested their is an auction sale at Clarke Auctions in Rouleau this weekend and the have a 53-56 F350 and a 61-65 f100 Mercury up for auction. The f350 looks not to bad a few dents and dings but doesn't appear to have much rust. The Mercury would be a parts truck, It is a custom cab and has a V8. I don't have a camera but if anyone would like some I am sure I could borrow one
Corner Gas, the F350 would be real neat as I have wanted one for a long time. Do you know if it is complete, running well and how much rust does it have? Does it have dual wheels? Every time I hear or see one it is always just out of reach. I would be real interested in it depending on the shape it is in and what it goes for but have to work this Sat. I am to far away for the time that I have to spare to attend this sale. Will be mad if it is in fairly decent condition and goes for reasonably modest price.
If you can send fomoko1 who the auctioners are. They can usually send pics and he can put in a reserve bid. They will help give info that they have. Thou not all auction guys will take proxy bids, but it maybe worth checking to see if this one does.
Fomoko1 I will go check it out for you after work. From the road I see it has dual wheels with a 7' x 12' box and hoist as for rust nothing jumped out at me but I will have a closer look. The Auctioneers are Clarke Auctioneers and their web site is clarkeauctioneers.com. They don't have a picture on their web site in fact it is not even listed, but they may have one on file. I am not sure about reserve bids but they will take bids by phone I have seen that. Anyways, I will find out more for you and get back to you.
Hey did you get my e-mail about the coffee shop and sovenier place called the The Stoop there. Still interested if they have a phone # to call. Glen GPW66
Hey Fomoko1 I went to look at the truck again.
Windshield and rear window are badly craked.
Drivers headlight broken out and driver fender pushed in a bit.
Right fender has a few dents. looks like he rubbed something
Hinges on hood are wore out and the drivers door rubs when you open it.
All the tires look good.
Cab corners and floors look good, I didn't see much rust. I talked to Grant Clarke the auctioneer and he didn't know if it ran or not, the owner just dropped it off. It is nice and straight and the box is in good shape. I would have to say it has been stored inside for most its life. Also it is a dark green if that matters. I wish I had pictures for you but my buddy with the digi cam was gone today and we are leaving for Archerwill tomorrow morning. The auctioneers phone number is 776-2397 and his name is Grant Clarke maybe he can get you some pictures? Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Hi Corner Gas, the info is great. Thank you very much, this is important info to me. Just wish that I had the time to be there. I will call Grant Friday am and see what he has to say. If there isn`t much/any rust this would be great. Just don`t know what to offer in the way of a price but maybe Grant can assit me there. Glad to know that it has duals as Dad`s 53 F350 did. What are you doing in Archerwill, family or friends? You were a great help and if I can return the favor let me know. Thanks again.
Corner Gas, I put a sight unseen bid in for $300. Doesn`t look like I got it because I haven`t heard anything back yet. Clarke Auctions stated that it is a 56 and it did run but the carb leaked gas real bad. Will have to wait till Tuesday to find out as they were closed for the long weekend by the time I got a chance to calll and ask about it. Would like to know what it did go for. I would have gone higher on the bid but it is a long way to go with the price of fuel and time to bring it home. Doesn`t look good but still hope that I get it.
Hi Fomoko1 I was talking to Grant the auctioneer this afternoon about the 56 f350 and he said it sold for $450.00 . If i spot any others down hear I will let you know.
Thanks Corner Gas. This is the first that I have heard of the sale result on the 56 F350. Good to finally know. Too bad it was so far away and the time was so short. I would appreciate that you keep an eye pleeled for me on the 53/56 trucks. Not that I need any more projects that I don`t have time for but what the heck! Can never have too many, right?
