i putting in a 3 pod pillar in my truck and i need to know where i hook up the vacume line for my boost gauge?? does anyone know where to hook it up or have pictures of where to hook it up??? i appreciate the help
thanks jason-
If you don't have a boost relief valve you can just tee it into the MAP sensor line. If you have the valve then just about anywhere else, it's just more work.
There's lots of guys that buy the AIH delete plug with the boost guage nipple built in.
when your in front of your truck its to the left, right next to the A/C condenser.Look for a braket with wires going to it and right below that there will be a rubber line.Thats the line you want to tie into.
P.S the line has loom over it.
I have mine inserted directly into the x pipe. When looking at the boost between my banks six gun and my autometer there is a difference in the readings. The banks is reading from the MAP sensor and is lower than my autometer gauge.
When your standing in front of the truck, its right behind the fuel filter coming out of the x pipe. It has plastic looom around it and that goes towards the passenger side of the truck.
Follow the path from the turbo to the intercooler and look for the plastic loom thats coming out of the x pipe.
Standing in front of the truck look to the passenger side of the engine compartment. You'll see the air conditioning equipment buried in the passenger side corner of the engine compartment. Just above all the plumbing you'll see a black unit with an electrical plug and a vaccum line going to it. That's the MAP sensor. The bracket that holds it down is secured with three 11mm nuts in a triangle pattern. Simply tee into the rubber hose going to that and you'll get a boost reading.
If you plan on getting a boost relief valve in the future than I would recommend that you get one of those AIS delete plugs with the fitting built in. That way you won't get a false reading.
here is a picture that i wrote over. i am not 100% sure of this, because i cant see the elbow that connects to the actual 5-way horn. this is the map line, im almost positive. dont mind the other stuff i crossed out, it was from another picture and i just wanted to clarify this real quick.
under the green plug, there is a 90* elbow that is going into the 5-way manifold. look for that, and look for the hose i circled coming off of it. that is the MAP line.
