Any cheep ways to increase suspension travel on a 80 F250 4x4? The stock travel sucks, espesially on rough roads and trails.

Thanks,

well cheap is relative! the more travel you want the more you'll pay. softer springs with dropped mounts always does a nice job! go to a solid axle front (D44HD or D60HP) do a shackle reversal, put some F250 stock springs in with the bottom leaf (not the overload) pulled and a heavy duty shackle/hanger in the back

Unles you switch to a solid front axle the easiest way to get more travel up front would be to modify it for coild springs, would be a lot of work (not even entirely sure how you would go about doing it either), but for the ttbs it'd be the best way and leaf springs don't really like the arch that ttb's travel in.

it wouldn't be hard to mount up the coils but to fab the radius arm mounts could pose a problem. might have to look into stripping a D44 of its coil/radius arm setup and fab it to your D50

OR he could weld up a pad onto the leaf spring perch and have the radius arm mount to that.
