fabmandelux, how're ya getting methanol so cheap?
I know your operation has grown alot in 6-12 months, but my cost is still $.70 or so.
or have you gone to making ethanol and using it?

I buy my methanol in 300gal bulk containers @ 23 cents a lb/ 6lb per gal,final cost $1.38 per gal F.O.B. portland, ore.

Less 25% methanol recovery - $1.72
total actual cost $6.08


25 gal of finished biodiesel @ $6.08 =$0.24 per gal.
I added 6 cents a gal for misc. FABMANDELUX

 

How much was the equipment and howlong does it take to process everything?

 

I used "stuff" I had in my boneyard so the total out of pocket is around $200. I can process 50 gal/hr on a continious basis. Presently doing 400 gal/wk, one day/wk. FABMANDELUX.

 

i'll have to ask my supplier about that size methanol tanks.
I've been getting three 55 gal drums at a time, for roughly $3 a gal delivered (includes drum deposit)

my lyes about the same cost as yours....
