I updated my gallery to include pictures of my truck post rear fuel tank installation and new bed. I started the project in early June and finished mid July. I could only work on it during the evening plus I had many family responsibilties so it was dragged out.
You did WHAT in a month and a half and then appologized for not being quicker???
I've had Gracie for a year next month and she hasn't moved an inch since I drove her into the yard. I was just going to fix up a couple things...
I bought the step down 19 gallon tank form Mid fifies who's supplier is classic performance. It bolts right onto the frmae no need to move the crossmember. However, there is a little cross member, which I think was for the spare tire that needs to be removed. I went to the muffler show a day beofre starting and they cut off my old tail pipes up to the glass pack and then brned off the little crossmember. After I completed the truick, I went back to the muffler shop and had them install new turbo mufflesa and tail pipes.
I put in autometer gauges on last November so my gas sender was nearly brand new so I installed it on the new tank after a little adjusting. I triple checked everything on the sender in addition to ensure it was reading correctly because once the bed is back on I would not be able to get to it without removing the bed.

If you have a saddle tank or a 16 gallon 53-55 on the driver side rail you should seriously consider installing a rear tank the same time your redoing the bed. In a 56 you get alittle more storage room and no smelly gas fumes.
