Hey guys,
Is a banks powerpack on a 97 f350 with a 460 worth it? I am looking to buy an exhaust system and want to go headers back. Banks seems to be a good system but I have never had one on a truck.
Banks is in the top tier of aftermarket suppliers. Their PowerPack is engineered as a system and will do what they say it will. They also have excellent customer service if you run into any problems.
i put the banks powerpack on a V10 and it made a huge differance, when towing i was able to pull my trailer on same roads, same setup, same situation 15mph faster max speed... I mean the reason i bought the kit was that in 3rd gear w/out overdrive i would max out at 65-70, with 75mph texas highways i need more power, bought banks and then could pull 75-80 on same stretches of road, so it made a measurable diferance, also my MPG went from 4.7 mpg to 5.1.. but have to run 91 octance, more expensive... Now im selling and getting a PSD, i cant afford the Gas MPG
Jetjock you have to run 91 octane because you are running a chip not because of the Banks Power Pack. Slow your butt down and you will get better mileage, just because you have lift and big tires you don't have to pass everything on the road.
Well it seems like the banks system would be good but does anyone know of something a little less expensive that will be as good or better? I have looked all over but banks is the only thing that has the whole system including headers and says it will give a good bit of power.
