Question 2006 F250 CC FX4 height? HELP ASAP!!

OK, here's the story. I recently moved to San Francisco, and when I moved abandoned all thoughts of buying a truck. Last month a big garage in my building opened up, and I was able to get it - so I ordered the truck I had been wanting. Trouble is, now that I've had a chance to measure the garage, I'm afraid the truck might not fit!!!

I measured the garage's lowest height at 80" (right at the door), and Ford's website lists the F250 CC 4x4 at 80" as well...I'm just not sure how accurate that is - especially they way I've equipped m truck - and I need to know for sure!

I need to know how tall the highest point is on a 2006 F250 Crew Cab 4x4, preferably an FX4 w/ 20" wheels and roof clearance lights...Does anyone know if the FX4 is taller than a regular 4x4? Do the 20" wheels raise the truck at all? How tall are the roof clearance lights?

HELP!!!!!!!!

Mine fits in a standard 16x7 garage door. So it depends on the size of your opening. It should fit but It will be a test fit for sure because there are too many variables.

Too close to call... If your opening was 7'/84" you should be fine- My 03 fits with a couple inches to spare in our 7' opening. With an 80" opening, you really should do a test fit just as Matt indicated. And good luck!

ok i have an 06 ps larait f350 fx4 with a moon roof.in the middle of the second door its alittle over 80inches. keep in mind there are slots in the roof for areo that sit alittle higher.thats with a full tank of fuel . im guessing it wont fit. i have the 18inch a .t tires so dont know with the 20inch it will be higher i can only asume so.with the moon roof up it will not come close to fitting. the roof lites dont come in to play because the roof is sloped.im guessing if it is that close any vareation in height could cost you if you hit the top of the truck. i just mesasured mine for you if you need anymore help let me know.

You mean it wouldn't fit with the roof open, right? And are the lights actually lower than the highest point on the roof? That would be good info to have...

Thanks!

My garage is 82" at it's lowest point and my '04 FX4 fits, but the only way you'll ever know if it'll fit in an 80" garage is to try it. My guess would be - "no".

The moonroof opens into the roof itself, the truck is no higher with it open. As to the clearance, I only have an '04 350 and it is a problem in most underground garages. Is the garage a straight drive-in or is it like a parking garage downtown? If it has ramps and slopes, be very careful as the height will change when going from level to upslope.

Does the garage door hang down a little when it is open? Is that why you are at 80"? If you have a garage door opener, you can adjust the opener to "open" the door further. There is a adjustment screw on the opener itself to do this. If you can get it to open far enough, you might be able to utilize the whole 7' (84") opening. I hope this makes sense... But, that brings up a whole other issue. - Even if you do get inside the door, the opener will hang down lower than the opening in the garage.

I live in apartments as well... I didn't even try getting into my garage. It is "big enough" to pull the truck into. But, I can't open the doors to get out of the truck! So, she will be sitting outside.

The FX4 package won't be any taller than a regular 4X4. The FX4 package only adds skid plates, a sticker on the bed, and Rancho "branded" shocks. Also, someone in the post referred to his 350 height. You bought a 250 right? The 350 sits about 1" taller than a 250. So his measurements won't really apply to you. I have a 06 360 CC with a 2.5" leveling kit and 315/70/17 tires on it and I am SUPER close to fitting into my 7' garage. I actually removed a piece of trim from the frame of the garage to get it to fit. Why don't you find a truck equipped like the one you ordered and tell the salesman you need to check for fit and take it for a test drive?

The moonroof has 3 positions, open and close add no height, but in the tip up vent position you gain another 1.25 inches. I could have sworn it was more than that but I just went and measured mine.

The garage at my work is 6'9" max and my truck fits with less than an inch to spare in most of the garage areas. It actually touches the 'clearance pipe' when I come in the entrance, it rubs the roof ribs at about the last 4" of the cab but the clearance lights miss by over an inch.

My truck has the Heavy Duty front spring option and 17" wheels with 265/70 tires. The tires are about 31.5" tall.
Sounds like it will be close for your truck.

It's an old-school door, the kind that doesn't roll up, but instead swings out and slides back - so, really, the opening is more than 80", it's adding the door's thickness that reduces the height. I need to look more closely at the opener mechanism, but I don't remember seeing it hang down beyond the door.

I'm gonna try for a test-fit later this week. The local Ford dealer has a F250 CC 4x4, but they're real hardcore salesmen (not buying my truck from them) so it's sure to be a PITA.

I think mine would clear my garage opening, its a little too close for comfort. Then I measured the length and removed all doubt. 22 inches too long on the CC SB. Oh well, make sure to check your length before getting too excited.
