78/79 F150 Supercab springs

Is there a difference between F150 and F250 springs (front and rear) on the 78 and 79 Supercabs? My F150 has two leaf front springs and 5 leaf rears. Did Ford make a special run of springs for the 150 for a softer ride, or did they save a buck and use actual 3/4 springs?

I have searched posts and galleries but can't find a sniff of a clue (plus I'm stupid).

i have some side by side with 250 springs, they look the same, leaves dont look any thicker, both have two leaves, same length etc....they didnt seem to ride any different....im sure the weight rating may be different, but from wha ti can tell they are close to if not exactly the same

Thanks for looking Kubota. I will have to look under the skirt of an F250 to see what the rear springs look like. I'm really liking the idea of making some hangers and flipping my shackles as opposed to paying $600 - $1200 in springs, only to find out they don't work as well some well thought out fabrication.

I'm too lazy but if you get a chance do a search in the 73-79 forum. I'm pretty certain that someone in there posted a while back about Supercabs and mentioned that F150's and F250's used the exact same frame and suspension, just different axles.

I searched, and got up to using: +supercab+F150+F250+springs+same+front but I always end up with 500 threads and after reading 10 pages in (3 times) I gave up. There are answers in there somewhere but they won tonight. I'll try again later. After Kubota's inspection I'm thinking I already have F250 springs on the front and maybe even on the rear. This is great news if it proves out. I have so many projects going on this truck, all require money and seem to need measurements from another component that I can't afford yet. I was hoping to start building things like spring hangers that take more labor than money. I need to start making some forward progress on it somewhere.

78-79 f150 4x4 supercabs use the same spring as 78-96 F250 2575lb front spings.

they are same dimentions and can be replaced with 79-97 F350 3485lb springs
