The same mechanic and I agreed to disagree about the 8.1 vortec. I told him it pulled like a raped ape until about 5200. He made the comment that the tune in the computer made it do that (lay over at that rpm). I tried to explain that it was the way the cam and heads were set up, but he wouldnt have it. It would be pretty cool if a chip would make the 8.1 pull hard to 7-8k !

I've been selling Cummins Dodges for four years. You'd be surprised how many people think that Ford owns Cummins. I got into a hearty discussion with a fella one afternoon and I took a 50 out of my pocket saying "I'll give you $50 right now if you can prove to me that Ford owns Cummins"
He quickly shut up.
DCX renewed their contract last year with Cummins for another 7 years. So, the Cummins 5.9 won't be showing up in Ford light duty trucks for a long time.

Thank you for clearing that up. Man I am tired of hearing people saying that.
