After taking consideration of everything I'm wanting to do to my F150, I'll be putting in at least 3K into it and still being left with a 2wd vehicle, so I decided to save the money and spend it else where..
Tell me what you think? $1200
Sure she's ugly, but she puts out. I took the beast for a ride yesterday and ended up giving her a flat (Notice the tilt in the pics); the front 39.5s need to be replaced so it doesn't really matter.
The interior needs to be redone and maybe throw in some new seats.
The bed is decently rusted out so I figure I'll toss in some new metal to pretty that up a little.
I like the idea of the back being open (The cab), but I'm not sure of the legalities of it in Florida. I'll probably end up putting canvas to cover the top of the truck, yet leave the sides exposed.
The fall backs:
Radiator hose leak; Front tires need to be replaced, bed and interior work; Front drive shaft doesn't work due to spider gears being snapped (Something like that); and the power steering went out a few days ago when he was wheeling. (Forgot about this and almost added more dents into my truck when I tried turning to avoid it, heh)
The good:
'78 Ford Bronco; clear title; 3sp with granny; 360 engine; 800 holly 4bbl; 4wd; already lifted and sporting 39.5s; and a good start to work, yet still giving me room to make her mine.
Another thing is, the truck is running straight pipes, and though I don't care for it too much, I kinda like it. Gives the truck a growl, so I wonder what the fuzz may say about this as well?
I will deck her out in KC lights and follow my camoclad idea for it. I'll end up making her my DD when I'm not riding my bikes and deffinately use her on the trails and in the mud, and once she's finished, hand over the F150 to my little brother. (I have a Chevy for any needs of another truck.)
What do you guys think? Good investment: Better than my last idea?
Thanks.
Hopefully he doesn't sell it by next tuesday..

I'd say it appears to be worth the $1200 asked. Take him in an even $1000 in cash and he'll take it. That truck will still need a lot of work but at least it's a 4x4.
He's asking 2k for it, but I worked him down to 1200. He needs the money for school, however doesn't want to sell it so I figured 12 was decent for me.
I'd say thats a pretty good buy, it has the lift and a few other goodies, saves you some work and money (heck that lift if probably worth the 1200 if its a boughten kit), i'd say go for it, then take the items you need to fix as a learning experience.
Well, I bought the bronco. Turns out Josh said the truck had spider gears and the frontend doesn't have a drive shaft. That's why the front end doesn't kick in. Put one in and 4x4 'n is on the way. I like it. Should be fun.
